I’m so glad you’ve taken the time to check out my work and I hope I’m able to help you capture the magic of your special day. Growing up as an expat in Hong Kong, I’ve always been fascinated by the story behind a face or a moment, and it was on the streets of Hong Kong that my curiosity and obsession with photography began.
A wedding is such a magical collection of people, gathered together to celebrate the love and commitment of someone that they care about. It’s such a wonderful opportunity to capture beautiful moments, and is something I’m utterly passionate about.
Being a part of the energy and connection of a wedding is something that is so special to me and I love that I get a chance to capture moments that will be important to someone forever. If you like the images I create, get in touch and let’s talk about how I can capture special moments for you and your loved ones.
While I grew up in Hong Kong as an expat, these days I think of myself as a Freo girl (Hammy Hill still counts right?). I live close to the ocean with my beautiful man Jamie and our mini-human Noah in a house we built together. Admittedly, Jamie lifted the heavy things – and I like to think I made it pretty.
I love having the ocean so close and spending time renovating (never ending job), hanging in the park with my midget and enjoying a glass of wine with my fella. If you asked my friends what I’m like, they’d probably say something along the lines of…
‘Jayga is amazingly talented, incredibly humble with a sense of humour that would make a sailor blush…’
I’m kidding of course, I’m way too busy to have friends anymore (winky face emoji).
Photography for me is less about work, and more about capturing beautiful stories. Weddings was a natural fit for my love of photo journalism. In a short time you get to enter the magical energy of a couples commitment and love for one another. As a photographer I love noticing those tiny moments between partners that show connection. I consider myself lucky enough for my work to be a passion, which makes it far less like work than most jobs.
I know how important it is to capture your wedding and I’m grateful you’re considering me as your photographer. If there’s anything you’d like to ask, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
